up north 2010

We took our first family vacation! We went up to Nisswa, Minnesota which is near Brainerd and stayed at the Good Ol' Days Resort. What a great time we had!! The kids loved the lake and the sand. Brian took Lauren and Josh on a paddleboat ride, the kids used the kayaks and an endless amount of searching for seashells and clams was done! There was a campfire every night where we roasted marshmallows and made s'mores. The resort also offered kids activities on the weekdays, so while we were there the kids did arts & crafts, there was an ice cream social, and pony rides were given. It was really fun! The resort was right along the Paul Bunyan bike trail and we were within bike riding distance to Nisswa, which was originally named "Smiley" (shout out to my dad!!) It was fun and the kids LOVED it!
